McDaniel Fruit Co. realizes that grower support and satisfaction is the most fundamental and important component to our success. The ability to be in touch with the wants and needs of growers is best understood by being a grower. McDaniel Fruit Co. owns or leases over 1000 acres of California avocados. Because of our standing as growers, we are constantly interpreting the industry through the eyes of a grower. Our grower support has enabled us to continue to innovate, design and execute new marketing strategies. These strategies continue to succeed in expanding the demand for our
Linda-Vista brand California avocados. The primary mandate for our strategic growth efforts remains constant: the diligent pursuit of the
highest market returns for the world's finest avocados, California avocados, and the California avocado growers of McDaniel Fruit Co.
GROWER MARKET INFORMATION
Growers are encouraged to call our office to receive up to date market information and discuss marketing conditions and strategies. We are here to inform and there is no better conduit to market information than a call directly to the packinghouse. In conjunction with communications directly to the packinghouse, daily market conditions are available through faxes or via e-mail. The most successful growers are those who keep themselves informed.
GROWER SERVICES AND ACCOUNTING
The field staff at McDaniel Fruit Co. is available to provide pre-season estimates. As the harvest progresses, estimates are revised on an on going basis. Bin delivery and pick up is free and done in a professional and timely manner. Grower pack-outs are communicated in a rapid fashion. All growers are provided comprehensive annual end of season statements. Integrated into these statements are the previous season statements allowing easy year to year analysis of grove performance.
GROWER FOOD SAFETY
Food safety has taken on national prominence and is and becomes a responsibility for all parties. One of the nation's most prominent third party food safety companies has certified McDaniel Fruit Co. to be in compliance with proper food safety practices. As growers, good agricultural practices are now a necessity to minimize the risk of fruit contamination. Grower Best Practice Manuals have been produced by the California Avocado Commission. GROWER CULTURAL INFORMATION
Our staff is fully informed on all cultural aspects of grove operations and readily available to discuss these topics with you. Field staff employee Wayne Brydon was recently elected to serve as president on the prestigious California Avocado Society Board. Wayne, as president, is privy to all activities regarding this organization. Wayne's commitment to this organization brings a wealth of information to our growers. Wayne is able to answer or direct you to someone who can answer almost any question you may have regarding cultural care. The most innovative and recent developments as well as time tested procedures are just a phone call away.
FIELD STAFF
Wayne Brydon: A 1972 graduate of U.C. Davis Wayne has over 27 years experience as a field representative having worked all growing areas in the state. Currently based in Fallbrook he predominately works the southern growing district switching his focus to the northern growing districts as the season progresses. Wayne currently is sitting president of the California Avocado Society. Wayne's near lifetime of devotion to the industry has made him one of the premier field representatives in the industry.
Richard Voth: A second generation McDaniel Fruit Co. employee, Richard has been working for the McDaniel family for 23 years. Richard predominately works the southern growing district concentrating in the Valley Center and Pauma Valley areas. As a grower himself, Richard has developed invaluable insight into the needs of growers. Richard is also responsible for overseeing the pick up and delivery of bins to the field. Richard's father, Don Voth Sr., worked as a field representative for McDaniel Fruit Co. for over twenty years. Richard is fluent in Spanish.
Don Voth Jr. : Also a second generation McDaniel Fruit Co. employee, Don has been working for the McDaniel family for over 20 years. Don concentrates his efforts in the southern growing district giving particular attention to the Fallbrook-Bonsall area. Don's father worked as a field representative for McDaniel Fruit Co. for over twenty years. Don has spent nearly his entire life in and around our packinghouse and our groves. Don is fluent in Spanish.
